Our Story

Defined Movement Dance Studio was started in February of 2015 with adult technique classes. Fall 2015 began our children’s classes with our first recital in June of 2016. As a small town studio in the heart of Lewisburg, TN, we strive to give our students the best quality of classes possible, allowing for a safe environment of expression while giving them the foundation of proper technique. We hope our dancers feel at home with us, growing in confidence in their abilities as a dancer and a person, using their given abilities to create beautiful movement, and seeing their passion for dance and life grow.

Classes are currently held at the Lewisburg Recreation Center.

Mrs. Katelin McNutt fell in love with dance at a young age and began training at age 3. She has trained in Ballet (Pointe), Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, and various Ballroom styles. She enjoys teaching students of all ages and believes that everyone needs a creative outlet. Helping her students understand the "why" behind technique is of great importance and a cornerstone of her curriculum. Seeing her students have "lightbulb moments" and grow in confidence is one of the joys of her job!
