Cultivating Creativity.  Building Confidence.  Instilling a Passion for Dance.

Dance Styles Offered

Ballet (& Pointe)

Ballet is the foundation of all dance and the perfect place for dancers to begin. Students develop proper technique, posture, strength, flexibility, coordination, musicality, and grace while building the skills that support every other style of dance.

**Pointe classes are available by instructor placement only.

Tap

Tap is energetic, rhythmic, and full of fun! Dancers learn both theatrical and rhythm tap styles while developing timing, coordination, balance, musicality, and confidence. It's a wonderful way to challenge both the body and the mind while making music with your feet!

Jazz

Jazz is an exciting, high-energy style that blends strong technique with personality and performance. At Defined Movement, we focus primarily on Classical Jazz and Broadway-style Jazz, helping dancers build flexibility, strength, confidence, and stage presence.

Lyrical

Lyrical combines the technique of ballet with the freedom and athleticism of jazz, allowing dancers to tell stories through movement. This expressive style emphasizes musicality, emotion, and artistry while encouraging dancers to connect deeply with the music and confidently express themselves.

**Lyrical classes and specialty sessions are offered throughout the season as schedules allow.

Ballroom & Social Dance

It's never too late to dance!

Throughout the year, Defined Movement periodically offers adult Ballroom and Social Dance sessions designed for beginners and experienced dancers alike.

Whether you're learning for fun, preparing for a special event, or simply looking for a new hobby, these welcoming classes are a wonderful way to build confidence, stay active, and enjoy the joy of dancing with others.

Private & Semi-Private Lessons

Looking for more individualized instruction? Defined Movement offers private and semi-private lessons for dancers who would benefit from additional one-on-one attention or a more personalized learning experience.

Private lessons are a wonderful option for dancers who want to:

  • Strengthen technique and build confidence

  • Prepare for auditions, performances, or special events

  • Receive individualized coaching at their own pace

  • Supplement their regular weekly classes

Semi-private lessons allow two or more dancers of similar age and ability to learn together while still receiving personalized instruction in a smaller setting.

Private and semi-private lessons are available by request and are scheduled based on instructor availability. If you're interested in learning more, we'd love to help find the best option for your dancer!
